In late 2016 The Curvy Collective was born. Our founder Ruthie was tired of not finding stylish, yet affordable pieces that fit her curves. Being plus size her entire life it had always been difficult to walk into a store and shop! Which made her think, she couldn't be the only girl with the same problem. Having a background in fashion design and vast experience in the editorial and marketing world she decided to create a space that celebrated women's curves and started selling clothes through her Facebook and Instagram page in sizes XL-3XL.
After some success in her home town of Puerto Rico, on September 20, 2017, hurricane Maria devastated the island of Puerto Rico, and Ruthie had to unexpectedly move to Orlando, and put The Curvy Collective on hold.
After a few months of living in Orlando with her sister Christina, they decided to partner and re-launch The Curvy Collective. This time becoming size inclusive and carrying sizes S-3XL, because no matter our size we all have curves and they should be celebrated!
The Curvy Collective is a place where size will not define your style, and where curves and style come together to breakaway with all the fashion stereotypes. We hope our pieces will inspire you to love yourself and your body just as they are. We will show the world that style is not about what size you wear, but how you wear your size!
